Unit 5 project lab

As a project goes through the execution phase, project control is critical to ensure that a project stays within the constraints of time, cost, and scope. A project manager will use different monitoring techniques to help keep the project within these constraints. If a project incurs changes, becomes delayed, or costs become higher, a project manager will execute change control to document and determine how to handle the change.

Once a project is completed, the project team should complete a final project report, which is the administrative record of the completed project, which identifies all its functional and technical components as well as other important project history. It includes all the strengths and weaknesses of the project as it progressed and offers a final assessment of what went right (or wrong) throughout the life of the project. It is essentially a “lessons learned” document of the project.

Your assignment is to prepare a project report for your project using Microsoft Word, make assumptions as needed since your project is fictitious. Include the following sections/elements:

  1. Project Performance

This should include a candid assessment of the project’s achievements relative to its plan. Did the project achieve the goals you set out to accomplish? It should also include candid criticism as to the project performance. What caused this poor performance? What recommendations do you have to ensure it doesn’t happen in future projects?

  1. Administrative Performance

What are the standard administrative practices that occur within an organization that were beneficial to the project? What were some drawbacks that could be improved on?

  1. Organizational Structure

How did the organization’s operating structure help or hinder the project team? How could it have been changed to better align the structure with the activities?

  1. Team Performance

How effectively did the team perform this project? Were the proper people picked to perform the project? Were they properly trained? How did the project manager perform? Address team-building techniques and training activities that you think would ensure effective team performance of your project if it actually occurred.

  1. Techniques of Project Management

What organizational methods are effective for project management? These include software, scheduling, rules, procedures, etc.

  1. Benefits to the Organization and the Customer

To what degree did this project provide the benefits and accomplish the goals that it intended? Keep in mind that goals are not always immediate and can occur over time.

Requirements:

  • Write your report in essay form, using bullet points only where appropriate.
  • Use American Psychological Association (APA) style to format your report, regardless of whether you use additional resources or not. You do NOT need an Abstract.
  • Use correct spelling, punctuation and grammar.
  • You report should be no more than 3-4 pages in length.
  • The cover page for your final Project Report should include the title of your paper, the course, your name, and date.

Formation of Gender Identity

If you decide to take this assignment and the presentation is well done (complete with detailed speaker notes that are cited) I will kick in an extra $10 as a tip.

————————————————

Formation of Gender Identity

In this assignment, you will create a presentation addressing how gender identity is formed, the scientific evidence for the differences between the genders, and the various influences (biological, social, and cultural) that affect these differences.

Assume you are making a presentation as part of a national symposium on gender development. Your contribution will serve as the introductory presentation to provide context to the symposium and your copresenters. The target audience for this project is the research community.

Using the module readings, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, research how gender identity is formed.

Develop a presentation that addresses the following:

  • Introduction: Overview of presentation
  • The history of the study of gender
  • Ways in which gender is studied
  • Psychological theories about gender development
  • Relative roles of biological, social, and cultural influences on gender (such as stereotyping and discrimination)
  • Scientific evidence for gender differences in the following areas:
    • School and work
    • Relationships and sexuality
    • Health and wellness
    • Stress, coping, and psychopathology
  • Conclusions that forecast the landscape for gender development at work and home, and in political arenas and initiatives in the coming years

Be sure to cover the following in your presentation:

  • Include a title slide and a slide with references.
  • Start each slide with a statement about the topic of the slide, and then include several bullet points to support your initial statement.
  • Create speaker notes for each slide describing the main talking points for the topic addressed in the slide.
  • Include information from your personal experiences and the readings reviewed in the course.
  • Provide proper credit to sources and write in a formal and organized fashion.
  • At a minimum, cite the online course and the textbook. Additional sources are welcome. Scholarly sources are preferred and can be found through Argosy University online library resources.
  • You may also cite nonscholarly references from reputable Web and print sources. For reputable Web sources, look for .org, .net, or .edu sites as opposed to .com sites. Be sure to avoid Wikipedia.

Develop a 10–12-slide presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint format. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

need a 250 word essay on the Columbian Exchange and what we take for granted

I need a 250-300 word essay on globalization, the Columbian Exchange, describing the term in the first paragraph, and a second paragraph explaining how own life has been impacted by the Columbian Exchange, and what do we take for granted that are a direct resut of the first great period of globalization.

This is a rushed essay, as an ellective class, I’d love to learn, but there is not enough time to finish all assignments in the small time allowed. This one is of least importance in my studies, but need a good grade I don’t have time to read upon.

SOCW6311 Walden Evaluation Process and Presentation Improvement Paper

Discussion 1

Respond to a colleague by offering critiques of their analyses. Identify strengths in their analyses and strategies for presenting evaluation results to others. Identify ways your colleagues might improve their presentations. Identify potential needs or questions of the audience that they may not have considered. Provide an additional strategy for overcoming the obstacles or challenges in communicating the content of the evaluation reports.

Response to Kynesha

Present the results of the evaluation

I would present the results of the evaluation to all stakeholders in the program, to include staff, facilitators, funders etc. I would inform them that the inter-rater reliabilities of the scores were high, this caused the item ratings by the two observers to be averaged out (Law & Shek, 2013). At least 76% of the program followed the manual created. Based on the data obtained, the quality of implementation and success rate of the program were high (Law & Shek, 2013). The highest scores were for classroom management and familiarity with students. Reflective learning received the lowest score (Law & Shek, 2013) . Improvements for this factor need to be discussed at a later date.

Background information and Key message

The background information should include a summary of the program, the mission statement, history, goals and the evaluation process. Additionally, the background information needs to include the stakeholders, what roles they were supposed to play, why we chose the evaluation design and data collection methods and did these methods meet our expectations, results and conclusion (McNamara, 2006). My key message will recap the program and its overall goals, expected outcomes and what outcomes came into play. Briefly summarizing all this information will ensure that all stakeholders present has an understanding of details that took place from the start of the program all the way to the ending results/outcome of the program.

Strategies used to meet your colleagues’ interests and goals.

To meet the interests and goals of my colleagues, I would include visual representation of the information mentioned above. This will include a PowerPoint presentation and a handout of the mission statement, program goals, evaluation and findings. This will ensure that everyone is able to physically see and hear our findings. If someone is not able to make the meeting or must leave early, they can take a handout with them to view later or it can be sent via email to those not present.

Questions and Reactions

The reactions that I receive from my colleagues will vary. I must understand and respect everyone’s thoughts and opinions. They may want information on how clients as well as themselves are going to be affected in the future. Questions asked will probably include the program’s strengths and weakness. There may be questions on how to move forward from this point on.

Discussion 2

Response to Brian

Respond to at least two colleagues by doing the following:

  • Note similarities and differences between how you plan to apply what you have learned and how they plan to apply their knowledge in their field experiences and careers.
  • Identify an additional way that your colleagues might find what they have learned useful.

During this course I feel that I was able to learn many new skills to better understand the program evaluation process and apply the appropriate intervention. One of the most useful resources was the basic guide to program evaluations in which McNamara provides the important elements of evaluations as it is important to “ensure your evaluation plan is documented so you can regularly and efficiently carry out your evaluation activities.” (McNamara, 2006) It will be important to use my skills in order to obtain enough information in order to develop an evaluation that other will be able to recognize and understand. Being able to recognize and understand what the primary goals and needs for those that in which the plan is designed for.

One skill I hope to master is to be able to communicate effectively with others to ensure proper feedback to be able to maintain the strengths and to be able to identify and correct the weaker areas. Communication is important to ensure information is collected to understand, identify and make corrections when needed.
