1- In 200-250 words, I would like you to reflect on the following:

What do you know about the relationship between the National government and state and local governments? Who do you believe is really “in charge” and why? Can you give an example that demonstrates this relationship?

Please do not use outside research to respond to this assignment. This should be a personal reflection on what you know about federalism and the relationship between the different levels of government. There is no right or wrong answer.

2-Would you be in favor of calling a constitutional convention to amend and/ or change our current constitution? Why or why not? Do you think the process for changing our Constitution should be easier? Why or why not? 250 words

3-Thomas Jefferson was considered the primary author of the Declaration of Independence but was not present for the writing of the Constitution. Despite this fact, Jefferson’s influence can still be seen in the final document that became our constitution.

Read both the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence posted under the documents tab and then, in at least 350 – 400 words, respond to the following:

1) Find at least three areas in the Constitution which reflect ideas presented by Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence. You need to be specific and cite material directly from both documents to support your assertions. Failure to do so will result in a reduction of points on the assignment. If you use any other sources for this assignment, you MUST cite properly both in your response and in your works cited page.
