Easy reply History 2

In regards to the Monroe doctrine, I do believe that the U.S . was to the right for selecting to stick with the ideas of the Monroe doctrine. Many of the original settlers came to the Us to steer clear of European control and tradition. The US was built on the back of individuals that wanted to be able to express them selfs freely, with out over site from others thousands of miles away. The initial intent of the Monroe doctrine was for the US to stay out of warring action being taken with in Europe. But along with that any interference with colonies in the US, by foreign entities would be taken as an act of war and appropriate response would be given. many of the founding father wanted isolationism for the country. The opinion that I hold is that the US was well within its rights to accept and follow the Monroe doctrine.
